Qualifications for
Voter Registration
General Eligibility Requirements:
To register for National and Local Elections, you must meet these four criteria:
CITIZENSHIP
You must be a Filipino citizen (either by birth or naturalization). Dual citizens are also eligible
LEGAL AGE
Citizens as young as 17 can register as long as they are least 18yo on or before Election Day
RESIDENCE
You must have lived in the Philippines for at least one (1) year before the election.
NO LEGAL BAN
No court-declared mental incompetence or prison sentence over one year (unless pardoned).
Specific Categories:
Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Voters:
For youth elections, Filipinos aged 15 to 30 years old are eligible to register.
Overseas Voters:
Filipino citizens who are abroad (or will be abroad during the voting period) and are at least 18 years old can register at Philippine Embassies or Consulates.
Vulnerable Sectors:
Senior citizens, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and members of Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities have dedicated registration lanes and updated records protocols to ensure accessibility.
